Baby Shot In Head During Gunfire Into Home

Image(AP) - Police say a sleeping 7-month-old boy has been shot in the head and his uncle wounded when someone outside opened fire at a Central Texas house. Waco police say nobody has been arrested over the shootings early Wednesday that left several bullet holes in the residence. Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton says police are trying to determine why the house apparently was targeted. Police say infant Dmar Caufield is in critical condition at a Temple hospital. Investigators say 38-year-old Craig Mays, who lives at the home, suffered shrapnel or possible bullet wounds to his arm. Mays was treated and released from a hospital. The baby's parents and two other children in the home were not hurt. Swanton says Waco police have no record of domestic violence calls to the house.
