Abbott Extends Statewide Stay-At-Home Order, Closes Schools Till May 4th

X) — The statewide stay-at-home order will remain in effect until April 30th. Gov. Greg Abbott extended the order on Tuesday in a press conference at the state Capitol in Austin. Abbott says he’s reluctant to use the term “stay at home,” since Texans can go to work at essential businesses, as well as run errands such as grocery shopping.

Worship services are also allowed if social distancing is observed, but otherwise, social gatherings are prohibited. Abbott also decreed that schools in Texas will be closed until at least May 4th.
