Alamo police have made one of their biggest drug busts ever. Officers Wednesday night pulled over a tractor-trailer rig, and seized more than 450 kilograms of methamphetamine and 4.5 kilos of cocaine. They also arrested the big rig’s driver, 32-year-old Jonathon Antonio Armendariz Martinez.
Police Chief Baudelio Castillo says the department’s Major Crimes Unit had had the truck and its driver under previous surveillance, although it’s not clear for how long, and that there could be more arrests. Police say the street sale of the two drugs would have pulled in about $10 million.
