The first case of the coronavirus infecting a Border Patrol agent in South Texas is being reported.
A Border Patrol supervisor in the Laredo Sector has tested positive for COVID-19, according to the Laredo chapter of the National Border Patrol Council. The union says the supervisor is with the K-9 unit at the Laredo North station.
CNN reports the supervisor and at least 15 other agents have been sent home to self-isolate for the next two weeks. The CBP has not yet confirmed the report.
