Computing Consortium Launched To Help COVID-19 Researchers

Coronavirus researchers will be helped by a new computing consortium announced by the White House.

Companies including IBM and Microsoft will team with others like the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and NASA in this public-private partnership. The goal of the effort is to give researchers a leg up in fighting the virus by making sure they have “access to the world’s most powerful high performance computing resources.”

The consortium comes as Johns Hopkins University says there are more than 35-thousand cases of coronavirus in the U.S. with the number of deaths approaching 500.
