Convicted Ex-Border Patrol Agent Jailed On New Threat Charge

A former Valley Border Patrol agent is back behind bars after apparently verbally threatening a federal agent. It happened during a court hearing Wednesday for Daniel Polanco at which Polanco was requesting a new trial stemming from his drug trafficking conviction in July.

Polanco had been out on bond awaiting sentencing after he was found guilty of conspiring with a local drug ring in a scheme to cover up cocaine thefts from other traffickers and then sell the drugs in Houston.

Polanco was one of four law enforcement officers arrested in an undercover investigation dubbed Operation Blue Shame. He remains jailed on the federal threat charge pending a formal bond hearing next week.
