Coronavirus Claims Three More Lives In The Valley


COVID-19 claimed the lives of three more Valley residents Tuesday, including two more patients of two Harlingen nursing homes and a resident of Weslaco. In Cameron County, an 81-year-old woman and a 79-year-old woman died from complications of the coronavirus. The respiratory illness has now claimed a total of 16 lives in Cameron County – 15 of the victims were residents of either the Veranda or Windsor Atrium long-term care facilities. In Hidalgo County, a 71-year-old man from Weslaco succumbed to COVID-19 Tuesday. He is the sixth Hidalgo County resident to die of the disease.
Meanwhile, the coronavirus continues to spread in the Valley. Hidalgo County health officials say 5 more people tested positive for the coronavirus Tuesday, bringing the total number of infections to 315. In Cameron County, 11 more residents were confirmed to have contracted the virus, raising the total number of infections to 387.
