Harlingen Company Recalls Nearly 50 Tons Of Chicken Items

A Harlingen company is recalling nearly 50 tons of chicken products due to misbranding and mislabeling which leaves out information that the products contain eggs, which some people are allergic to.  The recall announcement is being made by VICS Acquisition of Harlingen.

A company that VICS co-packs for discovered the problem Friday during a label review, and the USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service was notified Saturday. There have been no reports of anyone having adverse reactions.

The recalled products include the “happi foodi” Bloody Mary Inspired Chicken, the Southeast Grocers Brand Marsala Chicken and also its Mediterranean Herb Chicken. Officials say the recalled items should be returned to where they were bought, or thrown away.
