More Arrests Possible In Death Of Missing Harlingen Attorney

Authorities say they may be making more arrests in connection with the death of Harlingen attorney Ernesto Gonzales.

Currently, one man is under arrest – Gonzales’ nephew, 43-year-old Salomon Campos Junior, who Friday was charged with murder, kidnapping, and stalking. He is being held on bonds totaling 1-point-6 million dollars. Campos was arrested after a 3-day search of his property along North Kansas City Road in La Feria turned up Gonzales’ remains last Wednesday.

The remains were discovered using ground penetrating technology, and were confirmed to be Gonzales’ through dental records. Harlingen police had secured a search warrant for the property as part of their 3-year-old investigation into the disappearance of Gonzales, who was reporting missing July 18th 2017. The cause of his death has not yet been disclosed.
