Pentagon Orders More Troops To Eagle Pass Area Ahead of Migrant Caravan

More U.S. troops are being deployed to the Eagle Pass region as thousands of migrants make their way north. The troops are to play a support role to Department of Homeland Security personnel in the remote southern border sector.

Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen announced Tuesday there are nearly two-thousand migrants on their way through the state of Coahuila to the Texas border.

Acting Defense Secretary Patrick Shanahan has authorized the repositioning of personnel from current border security support missions in Arizona to the vicinity of Eagle Pass.
