U.S. House Approves Border Spending

[RIO GRANDE VALLEY] - For the second time in a month, the U-S House has approved 700-million dollars in border security spending. The measure had been attached to a war spending bill, but was taken out before the Senate went on to pass the larger war legislation. The House then brought it back as a stand-alone bill, and passed it Wednesday night. Western Valley Congressman Henry Cuellar is again urging senators to do the same, telling all those who claim border security must come before immigration reform -- this is the bill that'll do that. Cuellar says the bill would put more inspection officers at the ports-of-entry, put more boots on the ground in between the ports, and put additional eyes in the sky in the form of unmanned drones.
