Hidalgo County Health Officials announced they have two more positive cases of COVID-19 in a press release early Wednesday, bringing the county total to seven. Health officials say the reason for the increase in cases, is an expansion of testing. Investigators with the county are working to determine if these cases are travel related or more instances of community spread. Those who have been in contact with these affected people are currently being sought out by the county. Hidalgo County Judge Richard Cortez has expressed the need for citizens to continue washing their hands and social distancing.
