Valley Police Chief Says More Caravaners Starting To Trickle In

A Valley police chief says officers are beginning to see more Central American caravaners make their way into the area.

Assistant chief José Solís with the Rio Grande City police says since several groups of caravaners were recently detained up the river in Eagle Pass, his fellow officers have been getting more service calls involving the Central Americans immigrants in the Valley.

A Valley Central report yesterday says Solís believes the smugglers may be routing the caravaners further south in the belief the region may be lesser patrolled by border agents and law enforcement.
