A group of East Central High School students face disciplinary action after walking out of class a week ago to protest ICE operations in Bexar County.
District officials say none of the 30 students have been expelled, but have been suspended, are barred from the senior prom and the senior trip, and won’t be allowed to walk the stage at graduation.
A district spokesperson says the discipline resulted from the unauthorized disruption of classtime, not the message or viewpoint the students were expressing.
