The STAAR Test given to Texas public school students may be going away. A priority bill in the state legislature, which would overhaul the accountability system, got a hearing this week.
State Representative Brad Buckley says the once-a-year test would be replaced with shorter tests. They would be at the start, the middle and the end of the year. That way teachers and parents, he says, can track progress.
