Live cattle imports from Mexico have been blocked, due to a flesh-eating parasite. It’s called the New World Screwworm and experts say it can be devastating. Gary Joiner with the Texas Farm Bureau says that a wave of infections from the parasite is moving north through Mexico.
President Trump’s Ag Secretary, Brooke Rollins, says the cattle ban protects the “safety of our nation’s food supply.” The ban will continue on a “month-by-month basis.”
