Texas lawmakers have passed a sweeping school voucher bill. Now they are moving on to fund public education. The eight-billion dollars plan is being rolled out today in the State Senate.

Senator Brandon Creighton says the bill ties teacher salary increases to their years of experience. It also seeks to reduce the state’s reliance on untrained teachers, which skyrocketed during COVID. The text of the bill also shows and increase in funding for Special Education programs.
