Plans to change the ownership of the Alamo are gaining steam. There’s a bill in Austin that would take the Shrine of Texas Liberty away from the General Land Office.
State Senator Donna Campbell wants to create a new “Alamo Commission.” And, with this change, it opens the door for the Daughters of the Republic of Texas to resume the day-to-day operations. It would not affect the renovations.
