Authorities are investigating the death of a Starr County man who refused to pull over for a state trooper. The Texas Department of Public Safety says a trooper tried to stop 34-year-old John Acevedo in Rio Grande City early yesterday.
Acevedo initially refused to pull over but wound up stopping on East Hidalgo Street. Troopers found Acevedo dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound a short time later. The Texas Rangers are looking into Acevedo’s death.
