Residents of McAllen who need help dealing with the soaring temperatures now have several options. The city is opening several seasonal cooling centers to help people beat the heat.
Cooling centers will be open at the Lark and Palmview Community Centers Monday through Saturday, and at the Las Palmas Community Center Monday through Friday. The McAllen Public Library has also been designated as a cooling center and is open seven days a week.
