Texas Governor Greg Abbott is following through with a promise to pass both a school voucher bill and fund public schools. He’s signed a bill that will provide a little more than eight-billion dollars for teacher pay, operational expenses, special ed and campus safety.
The legislation is the largest, one-time public education investment in recent Texas history. Some public school leaders are still not pleased. They say the cash is not enough to catch districts up with inflation.
