The president of the Progreso school board is reportedly facing charges for public intoxication and possession of a controlled substance.
Multiple reports confirmed the arrest of Juan Ramos, Junior, even though the arrest did not appear in Hidalgo County Jail records. The date of the arrest was also not recorded.
The district’s superintendent released a statement saying Ramos’ arrest does not affect district operations and that there will be no further comment.
