A man is in custody after reportedly making an online threat against Mayor Gina Ortiz Jones on Tuesday. San Antonio police. In an X post, Marcos Olvera reportedly commented, “We need to kill the mayor.”
The post mentioned the mayor’s caution about city financing of the proposed sports and entertainment district known as Project Marvel. Police issued an arrest warrant as soon as they learned about the threat. Olvera is accused of retaliation.
