A judge is expanding a restraining order against a political organization run by former Congressman Beto O’Rourke. On Saturday the Tarrant County judge ruled O’Rourke’s Powered By People group can’t send money out of Texas as part of its efforts to raise money for Democrats who fled the state in order to block a Republican redistricting plan.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton accuses the group of committing bribery and is calling for O’Rourke to be jailed. Texas Republicans are trying to put maximum pressure on Democrats to return to the state as the GOP looks to pass new maps ahead of 2026.
