Two U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers are apologizing for trying to cheat so that one of them could pass a physical fitness test.

Officers Cristiani White and Cynteria LeBlanc appeared for sentencing in U.S. District Court in McAllen yesterday. White had hoped to join Homeland Security Investigations, but needed to pass a fitness test to be considered. She talked LeBlanc into taking the test for her after she was injured.

The two women pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge related to defrauding the United States earlier this year. They were sentenced to six months of probation.
