A newly-passed Texas law that requires public schools to post a picture of the Ten Commandments in classrooms is now on hold.

A federal judge agreed with opponents, saying that it’s “plainly unconstitutional.” Judge Fred Biery wrote that exposing kids to a “state-approved Christian version of the biblical document” was “coercive.”

The ruling will likely be appealed to the Fifth Circuit, which previously put a similar Louisiana law on hold for the same reasons.
