A restaurant manager has been sentenced to probation after pleading guilty to hiring undocumented workers.

Juan Ramirez Cortez was arrested in July after federal authorities raided Taco Ole restaurants in Mission and Edinburg. He was initially charged with a felony for harboring illegal immigrants, but that charge was dismissed after a hearing last month. He eventually pleaded guilty to misdemeanor charges and was sentenced to six months of probation yesterday.
