Two teens are facing charges for allegedly assaulting a police officer in downtown McAllen. Officers were called to the area of South 17th Street and Beaumont Avenue early Sunday morning.
Multiple fist fights were reported, and the officer was allegedly hit while trying to apprehend a suspect. Seventeen-year-old Alexander Flores and 18-year-old Sergio Sandoval were arraigned yesterday.
Flores faces charges of assault on a peace officer, resisting arrest and evading arrest, while Sandoval was charged with public intoxication, resisting arrest and interfering with public duties. Police say the case is still under investigation.
