The Texas Legislature is once again considering a bill that would shield certain police records from public disclosure.

On Tuesday, Governor Greg Abbott expanded the current special session’s agenda to include Senate Bill 15. The bill would require police agencies to store unsubstantiated complaints against officers in a file that’s off limits to the public.

Democrats had successfully raised a point of order on Monday that claimed the bill was outside the scope of Abbott’s call for the special session. Abbott’s statement on Tuesday corrected the issue.
