Federal agents are investigating the Houston location of a suspected interstate criminal operation masquerading as a religious group. The call center on the North Freeway is an outlet of the Kingdom of God Global Church, formerly known as Joshua Media Ministries International.

The two leaders of the organization were arrested on Wednesday in North Carolina and Florida. The Justice Department says the operation used “forced labor” at call centers in Texas and other states to raise nearly 50 million dollars a year since 2014. The money was reportedly spent on homes, travel, cars, and luxury goods.
