The City of Donna is trying to cut money from its budget to meet a projected revenue shortfall.

City officials say the closure of an immigration processing facility earlier this year has caused a budget gap estimated at around two-million dollars.

The city council proposed cutting police longevity and retirement pay during a meeting on Tuesday. The move would help the city save about a million dollars. The city must adopt its next budget by October 1st.
