The Navy is pressing additional charges against a seaman suspected of killing a woman from South Texas.

Seaman Jermiah Copeland has been held in pre-trial confinement since he was accused of killing fellow Culinary Specialist Angelina Resendiz earlier this year.

The Brownsville native was last seen on May 29th, and her body was found in a wooded area in Norfolk, Virginia, on June 10th.

Investigators have now added rape, sexual assault, distribution of revenge porn and obstruction of justice to the list of charges Copeland is facing. He’s set to appear in court in Norfolk on September 18th.
