Utah’s governor says police have a person-of-interest in custody for the Charlie Kirk shooting death.

Governor Spencer Cox made the announcement while giving an emotional plea about ending political violence in the U.S. The conservative activist was murdered during an outdoor “Turning Point” rally at Utah Valley University near Provo.

Kirk was shot while speaking to hundreds of students. Police earlier arrested a man at the event they believed could have been the shooter, but later determined he was not.
