A powerful House Republican is calling it quits. Texas Congressman Michael McCaul told ABC’s “this Week” that he will not seek reelection in 2026. McCaul said he was “looking for a new challenge,” and “wants to continue serving the people.”

Texas Republican Morgan Luttrell and Republican Don Bacon of Nebraska also announced their retirement from public office this year.
