A recent poll says the Democratic and Republican primaries for US Senate are heating up. A poll released Friday by Texas Public Opinion Research says incumbent GOP Senator John Cornyn has pulled ahead of Attorney General Ken Paxton, 32 percent to 26 percent, with another 29 percent undecided.

Among Democrats, former US Representative Beto O’Rourke and US Representative Jasmine Crockett are neck-and-neck at 27 and 26 percent, and they aren’t even in the running. They lead the declared candidates, former Dallas congressman Colin Allred and state Representative James Talarico.
