A firearms manufacturer and YouTuber is once again challenging US Representative Tony Gonzales in the GOP primary. When Brandon Herrera first ran against Gonzales in 2024, he came within a few hundred votes of defeating the San Antonio Republican.

Herrera has claimed Gonzales isn’t strong enough on gun rights or border security. Gonzales points out that he helped secure billions to reimburse Texas for border costs, and millions more for school security and a new Army Reserve Center at Camp Bullis near San Antonio.
