A Hidalgo County teenager is facing federal charges for allegedly interfering with the arrest of a migrant. The U.S. Justice Department says 19-year-old Diego Torres attempted to physically remove an officer who was trying to take an undocumented migrant into custody last month.

The DOJ said the incident happened during a “consensual worksite enforcement operation” in Harlingen. Torres faces up to eight years in prison.
