State Troopers Assigned To Border Security Earning Tons Of Overtime

Texas state troopers attached to Governor Greg Abbott’s Operation Lone Star are making millions in overtime pay.

The Department of Public Safety is on pace to spend around 77 million dollars on overtime this year for troopers involved in the border security initiative. That would top the amount the DPS spent in 2023, when troopers arrested thousands of illegal immigrants during the Biden years.

Operation Lone Star accounts for around a third of DPS overtime spending every year.
