A Starr County woman is accused of illegal ballot harvesting. Modesta Vela was arrested earlier this month for allegedly intentionally influencing Texans’ votes in the presence of their ballots during the 2022 Midterms.
Vela’s arrest is part of the Texas Attorney General’s Office investigation into ballot harvesting operations targeting Texas voters over the age of 65. She is charged with a felony.
