A man wanted for a deadly 2021 shooting has been arrested in Hidalgo County. Jorge Havier Vasquez was taken into custody on Wednesday during a traffic stop.
Investigators say Vasquez has been on the run since he allegedly shot and killed 27-year-old Santana Tapia Jaimes more than four years ago. The victim’s body was found wrapped in trash bags inside a vehicle at a car dealership in rural Edinburg.
Vasquez was arraigned on multiple charges yesterday and given a bond of just over a million dollars.
