President Trump is vowing to lay off federal employees if the government shutdown continues. Today is day three of the partial shutdown, and Democrats are showing no signs of budging over their demands for healthcare funding.
On Thursday, Trump said he would use the shutdown to decide which “Democratic agencies” to close. Democrats are calling on the Republican majority to restore funding and protections to Medicaid and Obamacare.
