A massive fire at a California oil refinery has finally been contained. The Chevron refinery in El Segundo is the largest oil refinery on the West Coast and processes over a quarter-of-a-million gallons of crude oil every day.

On Thursday night the refinery exploded in a huge fireball that lit up the night sky. The fire is still burning a couple of miles south of Los Angeles International Airport, but LAX says the flames are not impacting airport operations. It’s not clear what started the fire, but it’s contained to one part of the refinery.
