The University of Texas-Rio Grande Valley has opened a new medical facility in McAllen. A grand opening ceremony for the new 145-million-dollar facility was held yesterday.

The UT Health Rio Grande Valley Cancer and Surgery Center will serve as a hub for cancer diagnosis and treatment, orthopedics and sports medicine. It will also serve as a training facility for nursing and medical students.
