A South Texas Republican is running for re-election. District 37 state Representative Janie Lopez was elected in 2022, becoming the first Republican Hispanic woman to win a state House seat in South Texas. She was re-elected in 2024.

Lopez says she’s delivered on the promises she made during her first two campaigns, including border security, lowering property taxes and increasing education funding.
