By A new poll says US Senator John Cornyn and Attorney General Ken Paxton are in a dead heat ahead of the March 2026 Republican primary.
The poll released Thursday by the University of Houston and Texas Southern University also shows Houston US Representative Wesley Hunt with enough support to be a possible spoiler.
Cornyn has 34 percent support of likely voters, barely edging Paxton at 33 percent. Hunt is a healthy third at 22 percent, even though he didn’t enter the race until Monday. The remaining 11 percent are undecided.
