The ongoing nor’easter that has battered New York City and other parts of the region is being blamed for the cancellation of the iconic Columbus Day Parade.
Officials announced Sunday that due to the ongoing storm and a state of emergency, the 81st annual Columbus Day Parade won’t be held as expected.
Rain and strong winds are expected to continue to cause havoc around the city and the surrounding areas today. A state of emergency remains in effect in New Jersey as well.
