Texas voters will decide on 17 proposed amendments to the state constitution on next month’s ballot.
Most of the amendments involve tax cuts for various groups, including businesses, elderly and disabled homeowners, and veterans’ spouses. Other proposed amendments would bar additional state taxes on capital gains, inheritances, and securities transactions.
Also on the ballot are proposals about bail reform, parental rights, and citizenship requirements for voters. Early voting ends a week from today. Election day is November 4th.
