It was a big night for Democrats as they basically swept the board in Tuesday’s key elections.

Voters have elected Democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani as the next mayor of New York City. His victory comes after President Trump warned that he may slash federal funding to the city if Mamdani won.

Mamdani is set to become the first Muslim mayor of America’s largest city and at 34-years-old – the youngest mayor the Big Apple’s seen in over a century. He’ll take office January 1st.
