A man has been arrested for human smuggling after a Border Patrol inspection in Sarita last weekend. Investigators say a tractor-trailer pulled into the checkpoint early Saturday morning and was pulled aside for inspection after a K-9 alerted to the trailer.
Agents found a false wall and removed 21 people from the trailer. Investigators said those people were brought into the U.S. illegally and were supposed to be taken to Houston. The driver is being held without bond following his first court appearance on Monday.
