President Trump is weighing in after Democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani was elected mayor of New York City this week. Trump called Mamdani’s victory speech “angry,” especially towards him.
The president added that he felt Mamdani should be nice to him, because he’s the one who has to approve a lot of things for the nation’s largest city. At the American Business Forum in Miami on Wednesday, Trump said “we want New York to be successful,” but suggested he’ll take a wait-and-see approach on, in his words, “how a communist does in New York.”
